Our Underground Oil Tank Removal Process

Knowing what to expect from a removal project removes a layer of uncertainty. Here’s how our team handles every removal from start to finish.

FROM START TO FINISH
The Removal Process
Every job follows the same proven sequence, performed by our own crew with our own equipment.
1
FREE ON-SITE ESTIMATE
A certified technician visits the property to assess tank location, size, and site access. You know your options and costs before committing to anything.
2
TANK EMPTYING & PRE-EXCAVATION
All petroleum product is fully removed from the tank prior to excavation. Digging begins only after the tank is empty and underground utilities are notified.
3
EXCAVATION, EXTRACTION & DISPOSAL
The crew excavates, cuts, cleans, and removes the tank. It goes directly to a licensed salvage facility. Every gallon of petroleum product is manifested per PADEP requirements.
4
BACKFILL & SITE RESTORATION
The excavated area is backfilled with screened topsoil. If soil testing reveals contamination, affected material is removed and remediation services restore the site with clean soil.

When access constraints make full extraction impractical, abandonment in place is another option; this process involves cutting the tank, cleaning it out, and filling it with an inert material. We walk you through which approach best suits your property during our consultation. We also handle gasoline and diesel underground tank removal.

Want to replace your old tank? We offer products from manufacturers including Granby, Roth, Specialty Tank & Welding, Tank Tub, and Tigerloop.

Is a PADEP Registration Important?

Choosing a company with documented PADEP registration and active state licensure matters. Bucks County properties built before 1980 frequently have underground tanks that were abandoned when heating systems converted to gas, sometimes without the current owner’s knowledge. Steel tanks are particularly vulnerable to corrosion, and a slow leak can contaminate surrounding soil for years before showing any visible signs.

Call Professional Tank & Environmental for Underground Oil Tank Removal in Bucks County

    "Everyone was kind and knowledgeable."
I needed to get my old oil tank removed and have a new one installed. Everyone was kind and knowledgeable. Let me know one of my plants might be in the way during the removal instead of just destroying my plant and never saying anything about it. They cleaned up the yard very well (no dirt all over the yard) and they put down drop cloths wherever they needed to do work on the inside of the house. Got to my house around 8am and all done by around 1:30pm. If I ever hear of anyone needing a tank removed and/or

"These guys did an excellent job."
These guys did an excellent job. They came in, removed doors and trim, brought in the new tank, transferred the oil, cut up the old tank, removed it, and put the doors and trim back on in a few hours. They left things tidy, with not a drop of oil anywhere. Very slick work.
